A "chambre d'hôtes" in France is a type of accommodation that offers a more intimate and personal experience compared to traditional hotels. It translates to "guest room" and typically refers to a private room in a host's home, where guests can stay overnight. Here are key features of a chambre d'hôtes:
1. Personal Touch: The hosts usually live on the premises and provide a more personalized experience, often sharing local insights and tips.
2. Breakfast Included: A stay usually includes breakfast, which may feature homemade or locally sourced items.
3. Home Atmosphere: The accommodation often has a homely feel, with a focus on comfort and personal service.
4. Local Experience: Staying in a chambre d'hôtes allows guests to experience local life and culture more closely.
5. Variety from simple to luxury ! : The quality and style can vary widely, from simple rooms to more luxurious settings, often in charming or historic buildings.
A chambre d'hôtes is a great option for travelers looking for a cozy, welcoming environment and a chance to connect with local hosts. This is why on our travels, we usually prefer this thype of accomodation.

French Riviera : Le Mazet des Tourrettes
Prices go from 90 euros / night to 160 euros / night in the high season.
All the rooms have seaview, the breakfast is home made and varies every morning (there is for every taste, salted or sweet). Twice a week the hosts organise what it is called " la table d'hôte" - a meal where you can eat will the other guests, sharing a home cooked meal (very tasty!) and a glass of local wine. I can only recommend to do this !
Bonus : There is a natural pool where you can relax and enjoy this riviera vibe!
